The California Integrated Travel Project, the state-backed “Mobility Marketplace” for open-loop technology, completed its fourth year of operation in 2025, with vendors bringing in a little more than $2.6 million in validator orders and related costs during the year, Mobility Payments has learned.
That amount represents a nearly 80% increase over the validator orders and related costs over the first three years of the program combined. And Cal-ITP is noteworthy in enabling several transit agencies to offer riders senior and other concessionary discounts when they tap their credit and debit cards to pay fares.
