Miami-Dade County is believed to be negotiating with UK-based Masabi again for its estimated $40 million account-based ticketing back-office contract, which could lead to a recommendation for a contract award as early as next month, Mobility Payments has learned.
The negotiations with Masabi prompted a heated letter (download below) from the lobbyist for incumbent vendor Cubic Transportation Systems, which called for an immediate suspension of the talks by the county with its rival vendor. It’s the latest development in a problem-plagued procurement, which has drawn threats of protests from multiple vendors.
