Miami-Dade County will recommend to board members that UK-based Masabi be awarded a more than $40 million contract mainly to implement and operate a new account-based ticketing back office, according to a draft memo obtained by Mobility Payments (download below).
The recommendation is expected to go to a key board committee soon and then onto the full Board of County Commissioners. If approved, it would mean more bad news for Cubic Transportation Systems, a nearly 20-year incumbent in Miami.
