UK-based Masabi won the transit ticketing contract with Sacramento Regional Transit in part because of its ability to integrate with other vendors and third-party apps and to enable regional ticketing.

That’s according to evaluators for the agency, who scored Masabi over U.S.-based Cubic Transportation Systems, UK-based Kuba and three other vendors late last year, according to evaluation sheets obtained by Mobility Payments. (See table below.) The SacRT board approved the contract with Masasbi in late April of this year.
