Cubic Transportation Systems and moovel, which both came up short in their competition for Miami-Dade County’s procurement of an account-based ticketing back office, have each filed notices of intent to protest a recommendation by the county to award a $42.6 million deal to rival vendor Masabi, Mobility Payments has learned. The two suppliers respectively argued through their attorneys that they, not Masabi, should have emerged from the procurement’s two evaluation rounds as the top-ranked vendor and to then have the right to negotiate a contract with the county. Both vendors are expected to soon file actual protests.
