Danish national ticketing agency, RKRP, has launched a replacement closed-loop card for riders who cannot or will not use its national pay-as-you-go app. The agency plans an aggressive retirement schedule for its long-established closed-loop card, Rejsekort.
Adoption of Denmark’s PAYG app accounted for 66.8%, or two-thirds, of total trips on or as of Feb. 1, an RKRP spokeswoman told Mobility Payments. The could be a one-day or one-week high point of usage and does not include commuter trips with the app.
