Cubic Transportation Systems president Peter Montgomery-Torrellas has resigned, saying he was leaving June 19 for a “new opportunity,” which he didn’t name. Steve Slijepcevic, chairman and CEO of CTS parent Cubic Corp. said he would assume the role of interim president, in addition to his other duties, until a replacement is found.
Montgomery-Torrellas’ job was widely considered to be at risk, especially following the recent loss by CTS of a second major contract in less than a year, this one with Transport for New South Wales in Sydney. The vendor had earlier lost its revenue-collection contract in London. (See below.)
