Nine public transit operators, including the four largest serving the San Francisco Bay Area, signed a strongly worded letter calling for transport agency MTC to “pursue all contractual remedies against Cubic Transportation Systems to recover lost fare revenues and additional costs incurred” from Cubic’s implementation of the next-generation Clipper fare system.
The operators sent the previously unreported letter (download below) to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission last week, two days before MTC board members were due to meet in closed session to discuss possible litigation against Cubic. Mobility Payments reported on the planned special session last week and a tense Clipper Executive Board meeting held early this month.
