San Francisco’s Metropolitan Transportation Commission, or MTC, which oversees fare collection for 22 transit agencies serving the Bay Area, is scheduled to hold a closed-door session today to discuss the problem-plagued next-generation Clipper system and possible “contractual remedies” against vendor Cubic Transportation Systems.

The closed session will be held during MTC’s regular board meeting. An agenda for the meeting said the board is allowed to close the session to discuss “anticipated litigation” with its legal counsel. The agenda item mentions Cubic and said litigation could be “initiated.” Bay Area transit officials, including board members, in recent weeks have talked about holding Cubic accountable for project delays and other problems with the Clipper 2.0 rollout.
