Google appears to be pressing ahead with plans to enable ticketing and payments initiated in its Google Maps app and involving Google Pay, with Mobility Payments’ sister publication, NFC Times reporting that a Southern California public transit agency plans to let users book and pay for rides this way, according to software-as-a-service ticketing vendor U.S.-based Token Transit.
Big Blue Bus provided nearly 13 million trips last year, which was enough to rank it in the top 40 bus agencies in the U.S., according to the American Public Transportation Association.
